Window fell into the door

Post by knfevg »

This happens once in a while with my car (because the hot weather in Israeli actually MELTS the plastics clips).
The window simply falls inside the door. What actually happens is that the plastic holders-rollers brakes.
Till now I went to the dealer and they changed the WHOLE mechanism. I think it's ridiculous to change the whole things while two small plastics brakes. (And it's VERY expensive too).
Can someone tell me if there is a part number for this plastic clips? Or maybe any other way to fix it (mine are totally smashed to I can't do anything with them)

The only way I know how to fix it is replace the whole mechanism, like you have done.

I need to do mine, but can't be bothered ! I can wind it half way down before it falls into the door...that'll do me.

The part that keeps going is the window regulator, it keeps the window level when winding up and down....this part comes in the whole window mechanism. So I think you're oretty much stuck, I think anyway.

Mine did exact same loads until.... i drilled a hole in the small pieces of plastic, and put a split pin through the hole, this basically stops the window from jumping off the clips :D jobs a gooden. If you need pics let me know, but i may not beable to till fri night or the week end.
Peace

There is a repair kit available, that gives you metal clips, but im think its for Golf only, but might be able to adapt to fit...?
