alrite mate,
id say it depends what ur lowering the car by, if u get 40 mm springs ul be alrite on the standard damper n possibly the standard bump stops too.
If ur goin for 60 mm springs, which i would cuz my polo still looks like its got truck suspension after bein lowered 50mm, its probably better to get the uprated and shortened dampers too, and sum poly bumpstops. but u may be okay with standard dampers n new bumpstops, im sure there are peeps on here with 60 mm springs and standard dampers that can tell you.

if your looking to keep your car for a while i would go for coilovers, there quite a bit more expensive, but worth it.
the ride is a tiny bit bumpyer, but i have got my car half the height i had when on lowering springs.. uite a few guys on here have coils and i doubt your hear a bad word about them, well worth the money

Hey, I have Apexi 35/40 mm lowering springs fitted about 8 months on standard dampers. AT first I thought it was great but mate trust me buy uprated dampers or if u can stretch to it coilovers..... It is no fun hoping down the road over every bump. Trust me....! Ive blew a damper a few months after getting them,(Dont know if thats related) and fairly sure another is gone.
I wanna go lower cos I have new deep dish borbet Design T's eight inches wide and it needs to go lower..... Honestly peoples how low can you go before Speedbumps become a pain in the arse? I need to be sensible cos the road to my house is so bad! Im giving Gmax 50mm springs and dampers a thought or even Fk Automotive 60mm springs and dampers...... not sure.... All I know is that im fed up of my car jumping and hoping especially when heavily loaded.
Also If I buy a new set of springs and dampers will I need to invest in bumpstops aswell.!? Wat dffernece do they make and would it make a decent improvemnet to just get uprated bumpstops on my curent springs for the mo until I can afford coilovers?!!!
Thats the end of my essay sorry.... Ha. Answers would be much apprciated thanks!
