Both standard and with the same skilled drivers the GTi ofcourse. Why would they make the GTI slower?
Not much diff though, letme break it down:
100bhp 16v = 126nm torque @4400
GTi = 152nm @ 3300 (lower down has more power)
0-60 of 100bhp = 10.4 sec
0-60 of GTi = 8.7 sec
Top end of 100bhp = 117mph
GTi = 127mph
I only managed 125mph out of mine @6000rpm, what speed does everyone else do @ 6000rpm in 5th?
WHO WOULD WIN POLO GTI VS POLO 16V 100BHP
i managed 135 from mine, dunno if the clock was reading true tho but to my knowledge, thats wot i got!andyg wrote:...I only managed 125mph out of mine @6000rpm, what speed does everyone else do @ 6000rpm in 5th?
oh and openin the windows will make u go slower!
u can use up to £100 more on petrol in a year from drivin with the windows open!!
but then again... isnt puttin the windows low inside the doors have the same effect as foldin down the seats??

its cool, i know about the guy with the corsa ridin on loads o centre treads and less weight from foldin seatsModifiedMadness wrote:I was only messing about Grum, there was a post about some guy saying putting his rear seats down decreased the weight![]()
My speedo said 120 last weekend on the way to meet Inder but the TomTom said 110
think nearly every car forum out there has seen it!
thats why citroen/peugeot put the spare wheel under the car instead of inside it..... to reduce weight....

Is that at 6000rpm or are the revs higher. I found as I reached 6k rpm the car seemed to not want to go any faster, maybe if I had left it there for a bit longer it would have speeded up but my private road was running out.i managed 135 from mine, dunno if the clock was reading true tho but to my knowledge, thats wot i got!
I beleive there is a difference between the two engine types for the GTI as well. the earlier ones are a bit quicker.
you will also find most 16valvers rolling road at around 110bhp, some as high as 120. i've only seen 2 gtis on a rolling road, one had 126bhp and the other 125.
also on the top speed, my lupo will sit at 124 on the speedo in fith at 6800-6900rpm so I'm guessing the 117 quoted is accurate for the gearbox.
