Service indication of the Polo 16V 6N

Post by chunkychimpanzee »

Hi everyone,

I serviced my Polo last week, and I did the oil change already. I did it by myself, and now the trip computer is reminding me the car need servicing. It is flashing 'service oil' on the screen of the dials which is below the mileage section. I tried to switch this off by following the instruction of my owner's manual, but I still could not do it. Does any one can give me some clues how to update my trip computer, and stop this service reminder? Thank you for your help. Cheers

i think this trick won't work on the later models, if i remember correctly. you may need to get to a garage with the VAG-com computer to clear the code.

ive got the newer 6n 98 onwards with the new style clocks, i cant remember the complete thing but i think if you hold the trip-ometer or whatever its called button in, then turn on the ignition still holding it down for a few seconds or till it flashes with two lines or hyphens type things (--) like that, then turn off the ignition and it should be ok.

hope this helps
