Rubbish MPG

Post by sorted »

Yo

Put in about 10 Litres of petrol

(Checkd it with Vag Com - said there was 14 in the tank)

I then proceded to drive about and i had done 44 miles when the petrol light was nearly saying minus - checked with vag 1/2 liters left

So 12 lites = 45 miles approx

Surely thats no right :|

thats an equivalent of about 20mpg, if you have been ragsing the hell out of your car than that is more than feasible. when i had a 1.8 16v i was used to getting about 10/15mpg after racing some people (legally off-road)

You're lucky then, if I only do town driving I get between 270 - 280 out of a full tank which is £40!

My car also uses a lot of petrol.

Ive found that if i keep the revs below 4000rpm then the car will give me more mpg, but it is still pretty s**t, maybe 300-350 for a full tank
