ICE 5 Door Polo - Comps etc

Post by sorted »

Hello

First of : Car is a 5 door :)

Currently running 900 RMS 4 OHMS Amp to 2 * 250 RMS 4 OHMS Subs. All is fine and dandy.

In the front doors, i have some 17cm Sony Speakers that i put in when i first got the car : the headunit i have has an interal high pass filter on it , where i can basically only make vocals come out (which im happy with). I want to upgrade to comps with tweaters yeah ? and have them amp'd. What kind RMS power should i be looking at for the amp rough messaures ? So i install a crossover device in the door , and just turn off the internal one in the cd player ? (incase i replace the cd player)

Next question
I dont want to have 6*9s on the rear shelf , i would rather have some comps or some other solution , with the car being a 5door i dont have speaker holes in the rear doors ? Is there mounts behind the door cards ? and then cut a hole in the card ?

Thanks - Im a bit lost with this speaker jazz

I have a pair of focal V2s the 165 version in my 6n. I have been assured by a serious profesional (competes in the Euro championships) that you dont need any rear speakers. This is because it drags the sound staging back. I am putting about 80watts per chan through my speakers from my amp with my focal polyglass sub and it sounds great.
