Distortion help!!

hi fitted some apline type s components to my polo a while ago, really like the vag look so just got a converter to change over to phono plugs however im getting a large amount of distortion through the the tweeters at not a very high volume, any ideas???

Buying a becker mexico pro in the summer, do you think this will cure the problem?? wish i could afford one right now!!! :lol:

have u got them amped

u might have the bass up 2 high, fade the bass for the boot u got a sub

yea got an alpine amp powering them, it shouldnt even be big enough to make em go full whack, it still does it with the base down low, i think it might be to do with the in line phono adapter thiny, its pretty crap so hopefully new head unit will cure it!

tweeters usually come with a little resister thingy to only let high frequency sound go through it, maybe if you added one on if it doesnt already have one...it could be getting low pass sound and that could be causing the distortion...or maybe your amp is mono and channels out low pass sound clearing out all the high pass?

amp is deffo not mono and there are in line crossovers supposed to split the signal dunno what the problem is!
