Well put some Optimax in the FSI for the first time and managed to get 48.2 MPG. Quite impressive. I was driving down to Greenock (south west coast of Scotland) and the surrounding area from Aberdeen with 2 others in the car and a full boot of luggage, averaging around 65mph. Had done around 280 miles and was halfway between 1/2 and 1/4 of a tank. Usually that's when the petrol light comes on
Usually I only get 290 miles to a tank before the fuel light comes on. My Fiesta did the same on a 40 litre tank and quoted as getting 7 MPG less than the Polo average
In my 2.0 8v I between 11 and 12.4km/litre for my daily commute in traffic. I travel between 550 and 620km between fill ups, but when I fill up, I put in 50 litres approx
The best consumption I achieved on my Polo Classic 1.6 8v was 718 kilometers on 93 Octane. I had the fuel tank overfilled to about 55 litres. On the long road I kept a constant speed of not more than 110 km/h.
Any info? I have a 2006 1.4 tdi 80ps so far the car has done 4000 miles. The avg fuel mpg is ONLY 46 I think this is totally crap, this is with no town work! Any ideas.
Thanks
i have a 2005 new shape polo, its 1.2 engine and for a full tank (40 pounds worth) i havent been able to get more then 280 miles so im not very happy for a 1.2
Hehe on my 2000 1.0l E I get something close to 400 miles a tank - I think i worked it out to 57 miles (on a 300 miles round trip) or so to the gallon hehe
