My car keeps cutting out when I'm driving it!!

Post by Rukie »

Hey people

Got a bit of a problem.. my car keeps cutting out when I'm driving it.. its bit dodgy coz the power steering goes and so does the power assisted brakes.. :? .. It's normally after I start braking.. it doesn't happen everytime I break but its got alot worse..

Also my car alarm doesnt immobalise my car if I forget to disarm the alarm it goes off after I start driving it.. you think its related to that? The alarm was put in by the dealer I think its a after market alarm.. any ideas??

thanks in advance

i don't know about the alarm problem but most likely your car is cutting out because your throttle body is covered in crap.

well aircon usually makes a funny noise as it's powered by a compressor

the only thing i can think of is your car is idling a little too low, and as the air con compressor puts additional strain on the engine it may be too much for the low idle. Mine idled a little low after cleaning the throttle body but it sorted itself out after like 100 miles or so
