Noob With Questions...

Post by luckynumber37 »

Hi Guys, new to the site. Currently driving a classic Mini Cooper 1.3i and need something faster & German! So, i've decided on a MKV 1.4 16v 100bhp, i'm just planning how i'm going to do it up...i've got a good idea of what i'm going to do. However, i'm having second thoughts about the 17"rs4's i had planned to put on it as i've just seen a set of a8's in the MK VI section on a black polo and love the look of them, anyone know if they look good on a MK V and if there's any problems with fitting 18's as opposed to 17's?
Cheers Guys

I think you might need archwork done to fit 18''s on a MKV. Im getting 17'' Audi A8 alloys for my MKVI 9n :D

TBH mate, 18's would look stupid on a MK5 Polo, personally I'd stick with 15's or 16's

dont even go near 18's it'll look soooooooooo stupid on a polo. i think 17's look too big, but thats just my opinion, you dont realise how much big wheels actually slow the car down. when i went from the original 13" steels to my 16's, i noticed a slight reduction in the speed. i cant even imagine what 17's or even 18's would do. go 15's or 16's but REALLY low. and that is what makes a polo. Personally i prefer 16's on it, but thats me just biased. wheels cost alot and basicly transform the car, you dont want to make the mistake in your choice. i dont like the choice of alloy i have for my car, but i'll change them soon. prob be up for sale asap.

Go for 18s!!! Just so i can see what it looks like :D

I got 17s on without any problems, but its higher than the moon and need archwork to go really low. Can only go about -35mm i believe without archwork!
