i have managed to squeeze out 115 out of my 75bhp polo (on off-road track) was on about 4500 revs, think could have done about 120, still miss the days of a 1.8 16v that did 140 so easily

dont forget about the diesel engines.
1.4 Tdi (75BHP) can be tuned up to give 30% increase im lead to beleive, by just using a tuning box

1.9 Sdi (64 BHP) I have one of these good for economy, bit of torque, but if you want a fast car dont bother!

Hey guys, I drive a 1.4 8v (60 bhp), just added a performance back box and I think it shifts pretty well. Managed to get to an indicated 112 mph @ 5000 rpm. Gets there with relative ease and I think it might even push all the way up to 115. But obviously the GTi is the model of choice!

see i dont understand this.

the lupo 100bhp 16v is only insurance group 6. and quicker
yet the lupo gti is the same insurance group as the polo gti.

I had a 1.0 mk5 polo from new, and it was quick enough for what I wanted. that coming from a 16v mk2 golf gti. but I was only like 18 at the time or was it 19.. :?
