Dub Preservation 5 - the most important meet yet.

Post by dubwhizz »

All,

Image

I'm starting promotion of this event nice and early to bump numbers up. Last months was quiet, possibly due to the fact it clashed with Worthersee.

Which brings me onto the meet itself. One of the guys who attended Dub Pres 3 was Craig Walsh. I'm sure you dont need me to tell you that had a really bad accident on the way to Worthersee. Fortunately hes still with us and hopefully he'll pull through.
The next meet will therefore include an attempt to raise some funds for Craig and his family. Travel Insurance rarely covers everything and thats if he even took any out. I know I forgot to.

So I need a DJ to provide a bit of atmosphere. It'd be really useful if he could bring his own kit. but if not, I might be able to russle some up.
Hip Hop, funky house, breaks all welcome. (is breakbeat still cool? :s)

The main thrust of the fundraiser will be a raffle. It will be compulsory so don't turn up without a few quid.
I'm hoping for as many gifts for the raffle from tuners as possible.

If you are a tuner and want to donate something to the cause, please PM me or email me. anything and everything is gratefully accepted. I can't promise much in the way of publicity, cept for mentions at the meet,on the website and perhaps in one of the mags.

all of which leaves me to mention the meet.

Squires Cafe Bar, 5 miles east of Leeds 7PM onwards, June the 29th.

About the Raffle:

Tickets will be available on the night. Bring your £5 notes.

If you can't make the event but still want a set of tickets then please send £5 to my paypal address which is matt @ bytejunkie.co.uk without the spaces. let me know youre name and address and your forum name and email address so I can sort everything out. you'll get confirmation of your number and given time, theres going to be a post in reply to this topic with the winners names and forum names on thursday night.

This is for Craig Walsh and his family to help them get over his accident. None of the tuners have complained about being asked for prizes, so I hope you don't mind £5 for 5 tickets. no £1 amounts over paypal please, it aint worth it.
