Re-Mapping ? North East

Post by ---Carl--- »

Ive been hearing alot of people talking about re maps and how good they are and the bhp gains.

What exaclty is a re map and what does it do, how come it give u so much gain ?

Does anyone know of any places in the north east that will re map a mk5 gti ?

How much are these ? ive heard they are around 400-500 but for alot of bhp it cant be that cheap right ?

what bhp would u wreckon i would gain on my car if i had one ?

SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS LOL

Ricci concept in Hull is the only one I know of up that way if that helps.

400-500 is probably the going rate too at the minute.

would there be any power gain at all or is it a waste of time remapping any car other than a 1.8 turbo ?

there is a power gain but not alot plus it's gonna shorten the life of ur engine, it's not really worth it you could probably get the same performance increase with an induction kit and a performance exhaust system. although most ppl after that do get a remapping done to cope with the increase in air flow.
