Wheels and Adaptors

Post by KarlM »

I've just been looking at Speedlaws continental Polo pics, and i've made my mind up about what wheels to go for..... Audi TT polished 5 spokes!

My reasoning is that the are different from Porche wheels, but still carry the same sort of vibe. 8)

Now as TTs are 5 stud hubs, whats going to be my best option...

New axles/hubs from Golf/Audi - will allow for bigger brakes and rear disc conversion
Or
Adaptor plates - Cheap(er) option, but my cause same probs as wheel spacers

And one last thing, does any one know the dimensions of the TT wheel, i know there 17', but are they 7' or 7.5' wide

Find out the ET for the wheels, if they have a high offset you will probably be ok with adapters which I guess would be approx 25mm thick ?. Sorry I can't help much.

Tough conversion, as they are ET 35. So adapters make them ET 10-15 ish. Which is not much.

Perhaps VR6 hubs can help? You'll end up modding the arches either way, as 17's have a bigger diameter anyhow.

Porsche wheels are a lot easier... :(

if you go for a 6-spoke that looks very similar there is one in 16" thats 4x100 et 0 (zero) so you will need spacers (35mm) they come on the new laguna`s and ithink i posted a pic on speedlaws post

But if they are ET 0, plus spacers of 35mm you'll get ET -35. Doesn't seem right.

Are you sure they are ET 0?
