Need help asap!! (lowering)

Post by mk4ads »

hi

I've got FK Koneigsport coilovers and ive just got some new wheels but before i pay the guy for them ive got 2 options:

They are currently 15" x 6.5" ET38

A) i can get some extensions from him to make them 15" x 8" ET38 i would use 205/45 tyres

B) Keep them at 6.5" ET38 with 195/45 tyres

I wanna know how low i can go on each setting ^^

Thanks

Adrian

(btw its a '97 mk4) Thanks

Hi Adrian,

If you make them 15x8 and keep the ET @ 38, you'll need to replace both the inner and outer rings replaced, otherwise the ET will change. When widening BBS multipart wheels, that's usually not the case; either the inner, but most likely the outer ring will be replaced.

Even @ 15x8 you can run 195-45 tyres all round - not only will it look wicked because of the stretch, it will also decrease the chance of rubbing.

If it will rub or not is solely depending on the ET, so @ 38 it will be manageble, even with wheels that wide. If it's not low enough you can get spacer to correct it.
