TO PAINT OR NOT

Post by NZ POM »

G'day from NZ. I managed to get hold of a kit that comprises of a front splitter, side skirts and extended rear bumper, only cost $100 [33 quid ] I fitted it up and it fits perfect and lines up nicely with existing screw/bolt holes, only had to drill 4 extra holes for skirts. Thing is now that its on a few peeps have commented that it looks ok black. My plan was to take it off and get it painted the same as the car WHAT DO U THINK. Also because there's also quite a bit of black on the car what do u think of blacked out rear lights or green lenses like the VENOM demo car.I want to make the right choice as i've got to import them so i want to get the look right 1st time. Also planned DTM style exhaust, lowering, and maybe change of grill. Look forward to your opinions. :D Image Image Image Image.

if you wanna go for the black/green theme then you should black out your front grille so the slats are black and the surround is green. then gofor the blacked out/smoked lights.

look at the photo for what i mean about the grille. the slats blacked out

but as it seems you have started to colour code the front by greening the slats out then i think you should drop the bump strips and get some from the mk5 and get those colour coses code the door handles sideskirts bumpers and splitter. and make it the almighty green machine.

i hope ross doesnt mind me stealing his pictures.

I'd paint the rear valance and the side skirts, but I'd leave the front as it is.

You know how it is, you get it painted and then you rub a kerb.

G'day mate,

I'm sure with your paint knowledge it will look fantastic. The paint advice you gave me for my Pistachio touch-ups came up a treat.

Cheers,
Mo :D
