In the 2.0litres you have to scream them then be hard on the brakes, whereas in the 1.4, you dont have to get on the brakes as much because your not going fast enough, this got me wondering how much difference?
So a test my, friend has a Leon TDI FR 150bhp that does 0-60 in 8.4 and my polo does it in 14.4 over a quater mile stretch of tarmac he only got 15mph more than the polo, with about 3 car lengths lead.
So we decided for some twisty stuff for the next test with few straights. The Leon could not pull away in the corners just maintaining its position in front of the Polo, only when it got to an uphill straight could it pull away from the Polo.
Now i know in the world of traffic light grand prix and and dual carriage ways the 1.4 is outclassed, but for cornering fun i dont think the high insurance cars that drink fuel like its water are worth it.
The Leons worth 12k and the Polo about 1k, my mates gutted that it managed to do so well against him.
So really the difference isnt worth the costs in my opinion, am I still looking for a Cupra though? Damn right I am!!!!
