How hard is it to change the oil in an auto...??

Hello members
I've got a 1.4E auotmatic Polo (2001 (Xreg), how hard is it to renew the oil and the filter in the auto gearbox, the manual just says 'take it to a dealer' and about something to do with 'the oil temperature', has anyone done the procedure and been successful, and can they share there knowledge please.

Thats correct, the oil must be topped up whilst monitoring the gearbox oil temp. At a set temp range the oil needs to be at a set level to insure correct gearbox operation.

To read off the gearbox temp you need diag equipment.
