Front Door Speakers Adapter?

Post by what2097 »

I've bought some Vibe door speakers, and I took the door card off yesterday to fit them. However, the connection to connect the speakers is not standard pos and neg speaker wire, its run into a special VW harness.
I don't really want to cut the wire... How did everybody else connect their new speakers? Do you have to buy a convertor?

Did you buy a seperate crossover, or the one already in the car?
Cause I have an amp ready for them, but I don't have a spare wiring kit until the end of the week lol.

So I'm gonna connect them to the head unit, and then when my amp is up, I'm gonna use the speaker wire coming from the amp to intercept into the existing speaker wire going into the components, so that I don't have to fiddle with crossing over.

I've come to the decision that I'm going out in a few mins to cut the wire after all.

All i did was cut the wires and crimp new ends onto the wires, probably alittle bit rough......................dunno but it did the job.

I did it yesterday. I cut the harness off with scissors and connected the wires to the speaker. I also used the scissors to chop off those clip things sticking out which obstructs the speaker from going onto the door.

I haven't yet connected the tweeter however. I will wait till I connect them to my amp as the speakers came with a crossover and wiring, and I'm gonna have to find a new position for them anyway.

Sounds amazing at the moment though. I recently added a Vibe Blackair II 12" sub and music is a pleasure to listen to :)
