My Big Mk4 Problem

Hi guys,

Some of you might no, most probably wont.

I had a bearing burst in my gearbox a couple of months back and it had damaged 4 gears and 5 bearings.

I have finally decided to bite the bullet and today i ordered the gears that i need and i have sourced the bearings off a seperate supplier that offer a 10year warrenty on them.

So far it has been an absoulte mission but i've decided that if i want to keep the car i may as well fix it properly knowing that the gearbox and engine are going to be solid for a long while!

Anyone else found major problems with their gearboxes?

I have already taken mine apart and when i drained the oil it was full of metal and was almost upsetting seeing 4 buggered gears - but i'm going for it cos i love the car.

unlucky man, i dnt mean 2 be nosey but how much did that skin u buyin the gears an bearings?
