Sticky power window, drivers side Help please! (97 Mk4 3 dr)

My polo: 1997 P reg 3 door

Fault: The drivers side power window gets stuck about half way up when its going up, i have to pull it up to close the window completely.

Usually when im closing the window and its going upwards, the window slows down considerably and then stops halfway, almost as if it is struggling to go up as if somethings blocking it or i dunno....

Anyone know how to fix this?

please help! im sick of pulling up my window to close it, plus its embarrassing!

also do u have a sub and amps etc in ur car?
reason i ask is my g/f does have a few sound bits in her mk4 and the sub has a sorta draining effect on the passenger window and it takes ages to go up!
