How would you build a polo

Post by neilw »

How would you build a polo, if you worked for VW and had the job of buiding the next polo model.

Mine would have a 2lrt turbo engine from the golf gti, or maybe teh new 1.4 turbo supercharged thing. 4 wheel drive, 6 speed box. No rear seats, no electric windows, aircon, or audio system. 2 nice leather seats in the front, with some nice bits of brushed aluminium on the dash board. A nice set of coilovers on as standard and some 16 inch bbs wheels. Aluminium body panels, Xeons headlamps, no fog lights (its hardly ever foggy) No bumpstrips . I guess it would all have to go in the mk7 shape, and I'd have it painted white.

I'd use the MK5 shape again 8) and as you said have no bumpstrips, Xenons, painted carbon fibre body, 2.0L Supercharged lump, leather MK4 R32 seats, leather dash.

I'd have to keep all the luxuries though, CC, EW, EM etc

mk3.

slam it low.

9 x 15" th lines

strip the interior, create a partition wall inside made of perspex behind the front seats. have a reasonably nice interior in the front section of the car.

take the Audi RS4 4.2litre V8 engine and put it in the back of the polo.

bolt two turbos to it.

bolt a charger to it.

Paint the whole thing Audi Dolphin Grey with simple chrome accents and small bumpers.

rev the engine and smile 8)

Loving some of those ideas.

Realistically, if VW were to produce a revised GTi, i would have:

Mk7 Body - Aluminium Panels.

Lowered 60mm (60mm lower than standard Polo).

1.4 TSI Engine with DSG gearbox. 4-Motion

312mm 4 Pot Discs, 288mm rear discs. Vented all round.

17" BBS CH's. (have to get BBS to make them in 17")

Heated Leather Recaros (Electric), Brushed Aluminium trim, black roof lining, climate, Bose sounds with MP3, Components and decent sub built-in.

Cup bodykit, no bump strips, twin exit exhaust. xenons.

Anything else i think of, i'll add to it.

8)

del, i would have to say that is the most realistic one going! sounds fantastic! they would have to use the golf mk5 suspension set up too! oh and a little bit more than 167bhp out of that 1.4 lump i'd say! i mean, if its a four motion, that could handle a hell of alot of BHP!

16v AFH lump with turbo and intercooler in a mk1 with full 4WD running gear, widened track front and rear, massive Berg Cup arches. Painted VW Motorsport white with a black rollcage, and some wide black centred BBS E30 splits.

Or, a standard looking mk1 or 2 with a Hyabusa Turbo lump powering the rear wheels.
