Coz it hasn't broken down!!

Seriously, there are blue pumps for diesel and petrol ultimate. Should say on it, and of course the higher price.
The reason I'm asking is that I put ultimate petrol in my diesel! The good thing is that I didn't drive the car away and realised as soon as I started the engine and switched it off! However, since I started the engine, its best to get the filter change as well as drainage of the tank and pipes which will cost me 150 quids!

Going to complain to BP as this happened to quite a few already.

Light blue is diesel ultimate I think. I filled up with it the other day and have done 250 odd miles so far. Not impressed so far. Haven't noticed any performance difference and mpg is the same. Hey, perhaps it's all the same stuff, they just whack another 5p per litre on it!

The pale blue is unleaded and the dark blue is Diesel so be careful!

If the diesel ECU's are anything like the Petrol ones, it will take a couple of tankfulls for the car to adapt to the higher rating of fuel.

So, stick someone must stick with it for a few tankfulls (in the interests of science, of course!)

Blimey! Sorry to hear you put petrol in

Yeah it is a tad confusing I guess and to be honest there hasn't been a big difference. 4 tanks now and economy does seem worse, I will stick with it for a while longer, well at least until they bring out 'hyper' fuel!

It has stayed quieter though

In response to a feedback post to BP, I got an email with a spreadsheet attached which shows the location of BP sites around the counry that are stocking Ultimate (diesel too).
Can forward it to anyone who's interested.
I can now look forward to trying my first tank of diesel Ultimate.

Cheers

VW charged me 50 pounds to drain out the tank and washed the filters which was good of them!
