Bit of audio help

Post by ModifiedMadness »

I know there's an ICE section but this is aimed more at us with the MK5's and I know will get more attention in here.

I should soon be ready to have all my gear put in and was just wondering what adapters we need for an aftermarket H/U

I'm guessing I'll need the ISO adapter, and I've read that we need an aerial adapter as well.

After looking on Car Audio Direct it seems like I'll need both of these

This

And this

Does that look about right

I didn't need an ariel adapter for my Alpine headunit, but it depends on what connector your HU has I spose

the VW looms are ISO ready mate, some of the really old dubs need adaptors if i remember right but not the GTi's

and the aerial had the adaptor on mine i'm sure, if not £4 from halfords

jus worry about gettin your hands into the bay to run power cable, i've jus put 0 gauge thru and my hands are still aching! lol

You know you dont have to replace the head unit?
You could connect an amp (or two with a RCA Splitter!) to a Gamma headunit.
Looks a lot better with stock headunit imo.
