Got ICE, but how to install?

Post by Mouse_GTI »

Well I've decided to buy that JVC double DIN, so will need to buy a changer (It's only £90 for a JVC MP3 12 disc). I'd like to keep it in the boot and take out the old one if possible, but I don't know if it will fit in the metal cage. I'd have no problems having it installed under the passenger seat if need be, I'm just worried about having all these wires everywhere. I'd probably put back in the standard ICE when I got to sell the car in a few years.

Grateful for any advice :)

I should imagine if it's a 12 disc changer, it will be about twice the size of the standard one so wouldn't fit in the cage.

25.2 x 8.8 x 17.4cm it says it is. That's quite small for a 12 disc. I wonder if the cage was designed only for the VW changer

you run them through the sides under the trim, wires will not be seen at all if done properly, run it from the front into the carpet, through the trim (got to take it off) to the back under the seat and up, and wire ties help alot
