Any members with Vag-com

Post by M@Turner »

Hey.

My engine check light has come on and i'm pretty certain why it has and have corrected the problem, but the light has stayed on.

Just wondering if anybody who lives quite local with access to Vag-com or similar could check that i'm right and maybe clear the fault.

Thanks. Mat

Most errors; once repaired, should clear themselves, after five restarts of the car

Hope helps

when a fault code is logged to do with the engine its usually a fault which shows as currently present so you wont be able to delete that fault code without a code reader!

thats true, some do go though, my check light and epc were cleared after five restarts when a faulty MAP sensor was replaced by myself i.e. an engine fault

My fault is that the 2nd and 3rd HT leads keep popping out of place which makes my car only run properly on 2 cylinders. This happens pretty much every journey i make which as you will understand...........is very crap.

Once i've completely sorted this problem do you reckon the Epc check light will clear itself then. Don't want to be driving round with another more serious problem thats all.

Mat

P.S Might just end up forking out the £30 to get the code cleared if it carries on!

Cheers for replies guys
