Hi there Dayve

welcome to uk-p, i'm a fellow mk2 squareback owner, what type of modifying are you after just that i think most people try and go for the subtle look with these cars, e.g nice allows, lowered but no bodykits etc.

this thread was one i did a while back which might help, just asked the squareback owners on the forum to post a pic so tbh alot of the cars are generally pretty standard, but people like polokris go all the way 8)

My MK2 would look good if it bloody could hold anything in those tight little arches..

How the hell do u guys fit those wide alloys tyres in!?

I'm running 5.5J ET25 on 185/60 13" and thats the biggest i can go without scrubbing on the rear arches..

Bob how much?

MK2 squares rule!

I did 12000 miles in mine last year and all it needed for MoT was a brake pipe, the rear brakes adjusted and 2 tyres!! The year before it just needed the headlights set!
I also took it to Dublin at the weekend, drove down (about 100miles) at 70mph for the majority of the journey and took a wee detour on the way back covering 300 miles and getting an average of 42mpg. what other 1990 car with a 1litre engine and 106k on the clock would give that reliability???
I've been toying with getting a new motor latly (would still be keeping the Polo though)but just keep thinking that I'll be hard pushed to get something as reliable

Overmind, that's me matey. I've had quite a few parts from the guys at AAT they've used pics of the polo on their web site. The twin choke was only on a few weeks before the twins went on. :D
