Flame Suit On...Drove A Mates Saxo

Post by pettsy »

And i tell you what...its not a bad car!

Im definately not a fan of the chavved up variety, but this one is quite smart.

1.6 VTR
4 Branch Stainless Manifold
Stainless Exhaust
Unknown Cam
Stage 2 Chip
Cold Air Fed Induction Kit
Lowering Kit
Completely Standard Bodywork

Had a quick spin on one of my favourite B road (private  ) test tracks and i really couldn't fault anything on it. Ok, so the build quality may not be upto some of the vw standards of yesteryear but its not bad for the money. Almost considering one with a similar spec for a daily driver as they're cheap as chips and would enable me to save the G for the weekend

Anyone else driven a modified saxo vtr/s?

Nothing particularly, but i know if i get another dub then i'll end up spending more and more on bits, whereas with something none-dub i'd stand more chance of keeping it lightly modded

My brother used to have a VTR, and in all fairness it didnt cause him much trouble at all. The driveshaft was all that went i think! So not bad for a s**t built car. They are prob about as nippy as a valver, not far off it anyway and imo if modified right, can look really really smart. i'v seen a couple of euro smooth saxo's and can say it really suits it. I wouldnt have anything less than the VTS tho. Lil pocket rockets.
