Hey...by coincidence I just did mine the other day.

It couldn't be easier than it is. Around the outer edge of your filter, you will find plastic clips holding the filter down - release the filter from its cage first.

Dont worry diesel wont pour out and you cant light diesel unless you boil it I think. There is a plug/valve in the middle of the filter, here you will see a pipe on each end. Just underneath you will find a metal clip. Remove it by pulling it outwards using a screw driver.

Now there should be a few pipes left to, held on my tension clips. Get a pair of pliers and sqeeze each one - and carefully pull the pipes out individually.

Simply reverse the procedure. Just remember what arrangement the pipes are in for when you need to put them back.

Note your filter still has diesel inside it. I dont know how to put this back into the new filter - however you can dispose of it by unscrewing the bottom of this filter - beware at this stage diesel will pour out. So do this somewhere safe. Just check the bottom of your new filter has a screwed plastic cap - make sure its tight.

However before starting your car turn the ignition on and off a few times (you will hear the fuel pump), this is to prime the pump with diesel.

After about 3 goes, start you car and its done.

Would you please be able to check http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=24654 for me seeing as we have the same car.

There's no pressue, so its safe to do without putting a rag on there.

Just remember what I said about the filter still having diesel inside.

Changed it today no probs.. .. I thought id cut it open. Lets just say it needed changing, it was black with muck, the filter was the original one on the car from new.

I think ill be changing it every year from now on as im not a fan of extended servicing.. :?
