Right, GT ain't having a Stereo no more...

Got back from a night out in Ipswich yesterday to find my brothers car had been broken into (H-reg Escort) and whole stereo system ripped out.

Wrecked his brand new tape player (even though he had the front of it) and nicked his 6cd staker in the boot, also ripped the whole n/s of the interior trim out trying to get the CD player lead. Even tried to nick the standard speakers! Technically the cars a right off! (Yes, I know its an Escort, but this ones MINT)

First thing the police said when we got to the police station; 'Did you know the people that did it?'

So my GT will now be wearing a blanking plate instead of a front loading CD player. Crime around the Ipswich area (where my work) has become so bad I don't even think its worth keeping ANY music in there (even though the CD player has a detachable front), I'd rather keep the dash intact thanks.

Just annoys me that you can't even listen to music in your car anymore!

No HU in my valver at the moment. There's bugger all on the radio most of the time anyhow. Blanking plate is on order from Martyn

hide it. put your stereo in the glove box and get a remote

I once had a triumph spitfire (yes i know!) and the only thing you could see was a remote hidden down the side of my seat. although someone may still hear you coming....
