Newbie and my very unmodified car lol

Post by i_am_ray »

hey guys, bought this a few months back. but failed my test twice
so still only driving when its quite lol.
anyways, got it of ebay :)
51k miles. full vw service history, tax and MOT till early next year PERFECT condition inside and almost perfect outside, obviously a few minor ctone chips at the bottom etc. but hardly noticeable.
im so happy with it, is has alarm immobiliser, cd player and the colour coded seat :)
anyway, all this, for £2000.
i think its a bargain! :)
what do you all think?

Welcome to the forum!

that is a bargain Mr.Ray 8)
well done on finding that!

i love those seats and in my opinion i prefer them over my GTI seats.

have you got any plans for it yet? i see in the title your emphasising the fact its unmodified :D
we all had to start somewhere hehe

lol thanks!
well in all honesty, im thinking i like it the way it is. and with the way the insurance is looking i dont think i can afford any major work!
my cheapest qoute is £1400 with pass plus :(
thats so lame.
anyways, i definately want sum 16" alloys, and maybe a slight tint to the glass. but other than i like it the wya it is really!
i no thats boring but ive always loved the mk5. more than any other VW.
(its the headlights that sway me 2 prefer this over the golf!)

the only thing i've done to this, is put a blue light bulb in the over head interior light so it matches the blue on the radio and gauges lol.
its so dim tho, but on the plus, i can drive round with it on and its not a distraction so its kinda cool.
thanks again! :D

o if you have any suggestions for the bets rims please let me know. i kinda like this style.

Adrian Flux are over-rated imo, they wouldn't quote me on the GTi unless I had a years no claims or was 21.

I went with Elephant who don't mind you modding the car (although it's best to check with them before you do anything)

They were the only ones that quoted me less that £2500.

How old are you Ray? May be worth giving them a try

lol thanks man!
gotta admit tho, i go on vibes and i dont really take to those alloys  sorry. lol

with insurance...im 17 and i have tried EVERY1. havent heard of that quinn direct or woteva it was, guna try them now.
adrian flux was a joke, every1 hyped them up and they basially just told me no.

direct line is the best so far, as my sister is with them too so i get extra discounts.

if any1 else has any other insurance suggestions or alloys 4 sale gimme a shout! 8)

cheers guys
