New Girl....My first MK5 and loving it!

Post by collywobbles »

Hey guys, am new here, i thought i'd say a quick hello and post pics of my new car!

Well it's been a journey of trials and tribulations to try and find me the exact car i want for the right price :? Saxo went on Thursday bwahahaha, Friday was spent still searching for 'the one' and at 4pm i found it :D

Saw it advertised at a VW specialist garage in Blackpool, gave them a call and voila, it's done 57'000 miles, 2 owners, full VW history, full 12 months MOT , Tax until March 07, 3 door, red.

So we had under an hour to drive to Blackpool and get to the garage to have a look before it closed, along came my knight in shining armour Mr H and we got there with 10 minutes to spare :tu:

Had a look, looked lovely on the inside, the outside was good too, no rust just a couple of minor scratches and as Mike said the roof looked like next doors cat had been on it  Took it for a test drive and gave it beans on a carpark nearby, needless to say the brakes and seatbelts are in working order too! Soooo got back and Mike managed to blag a few extras on top

. New timing belt
. New clutch
. New tyres
. Full service
. HPI report
. £100 knocked off the price :D  8)

A few ideas as to whats getting done, roll on Project Polo!

So on the agenda are:

Colour coding strips
Rims
Lowered
System
Possible de-badge

I'm not picking it up till weekend though because Mike blagged all the extra work to be done on it, the guy said there's no way he'll get it done for the beginning of next week :pmsl:

A little cheekiness goes a long way! :D

Tonight, got my wheels too, need a refurb and a respray, it's the hunt for suspension tomorrow! Can't wait!

Let me be the first to say welcome :)

I had a Flash Red 1.0E before I got the GTi, it was a great little car. Looks like you've got a good project planned out already, only other thing I might suggest is a GTi style mesh grille, one of which I might have kicking about in the garage.

Either way, enjoy your new purchase when you get it.
