My dad recently bought a damaged repairable 6N2 1.4 16v on a Y plate from the local scrap yard, it was not that bad to look at (put it this way I've seen much more knackered cars on the road). It was a cat. 4 write off, if I recall correctly this meant it had body damage only, and was the lowest damage they would write it off for. But anyway he bought it for £1495 had all the work done and sold it for just over £3000 for a tidy profit. Wish I'd had it now
HAHAHAHAHA
hate to be the bearer of bad news mr_pachinko BUT..... (you're going to hate me for this)
... I'm the ONE who bought that car! I called her as soon as it appeared and bought it the next day (was a Thursday).
It wasnt so much of a bargain though as I had to pay £2900 for it as someone else offered £2800 for it and it came down to a bit of a bidding battle. But the car was in very good nick and had all the VW service history and paperwork, air con and was in overall good nick aside from a few deep scratches (nothing that Chipsaway cant sirt out). One of the tyres needed replacing too.
