Post by mr_pachinko »

AARGH

i don't know why i do this to myself, but was checking out autotrader to see how the mk5 is going price wise, and came across this..

2000 VOLKSWAGEN POLO 1.4 16V 5dr Hatchback
51,000 miles, W Reg, MOT April 2007. Mercato Blue. ABS, Air conditioning, Alloy wheels, Body coloured bumpers, Central locking, Drivers airbag. CD Player. original lady owner from new. Brand new complete exhaust. Hammersmith area. £2,600. ono

2600..or near offer? 1 lady owner?? its immaculate in the picture. called her and it was sold (obviously)- i really want to upgrade my 6n2 1.4 mpi..

anyone else seen or got a better deal than that? you have to be ninja fast to get a good car off autotrader..

I got mine for the same price as above...but with only 16,000 miles. Previous owner was a priest. It is the 1.4s 16v 75Bhp model. No alloys tho or A/C

My dad recently bought a damaged repairable 6N2 1.4 16v on a Y plate from the local scrap yard, it was not that bad to look at (put it this way I've seen much more knackered cars on the road). It was a cat. 4 write off, if I recall correctly this meant it had body damage only, and was the lowest damage they would write it off for. But anyway he bought it for £1495 had all the work done and sold it for just over £3000 for a tidy profit. Wish I'd had it now :(

I got a 2000(W) 1.4 16v Lupo sport (100bhp) for £2000
and a 2001(X) 1.4 16v Lupo S for £1500

but they were both high milers. :(

still cheap though!

HAHAHAHAHA

hate to be the bearer of bad news mr_pachinko BUT..... (you're going to hate me for this)

... I'm the ONE who bought that car! I called her as soon as it appeared and bought it the next day (was a Thursday).

It wasnt so much of a bargain though as I had to pay £2900 for it as someone else offered £2800 for it and it came down to a bit of a bidding battle. But the car was in very good nick and had all the VW service history and paperwork, air con and was in overall good nick aside from a few deep scratches (nothing that Chipsaway cant sirt out). One of the tyres needed replacing too.
