How much is this worth?

Post by dxg »

A mate has offered me a 1987 MK1 Golf GTI Convertible that his wife has run from new.

Not sure of condition, but I'd expect it to be fair or good but not excellent.

90k miles, white, blue hood, blue interior.

What do you think a fair offer would be?

NB: He watched Top Gear last week and thinks that "these MK1's might be worth something"

I'd appreciate any thoughts...

Deek.

I reckon between 1500 and 2000 depending on condition, I've seen mint ones go for 1800 (a friend of mine got rid of hers last year - an E reg carmen edition (sp?) for 1800 quid.

hope that helped a bit

David -- the megane's been sold to someone else... oddly, not that bothered...

Pettsy -- it's been described pretty much as yours. I've only seen it once in the flesh, and that was about three years ago, so don't really know what's happened to it since then. I know one wing's been replaced because I remember the guy telling me how he'd driven into a pillar in it!

that cost us £1950. had only done 40k miles in 17 years! and 12miles in the 12months before we bought it!

Bargain methinks!

depends on spec, engine, condition, mileage etc etc etc

if all v.good, prices already suggested sem fair, if a bit much, i would imagine nearer 1000-1500 personally

i just paid 700 for a mint golf mk2 driver 1988 with 1 owner, 58000 on the clock, with one rustspot!
