Engine cover nut not coming off! Help please

Hi,

I'm just trying to get the engine's plastic cover off which is held on by 3 nuts, to change my sparkplugs.

I've got the 2 on the right hand side off but the one on the left is just spinning no matter if you turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise it's neither tightening or loosening.

Anyone got any suggestion on what I can do to get it off?

Could you get pliers on that 3rd nut to pull it up & turn it at the same time? That might work.
