Fuel additive cleaner?

Post by mmh »

Since I filled up with a tank of supermarket fuel the car's been running a bit ropey.

Can anyone recommend a good fuel additive cleaner.

Cheers.

Well there's always Red-X although I've heard differing opinions on this.

There's another one, can't remember name, 3 letters I think...possibly meant to be better?

Do any of these ring a bell?

STP

ACP

NOS

These are three letter brands I could find.

I use Forte (For Petrol & Diesels) & get it from my local MOT station every 6 months. It was the MOT guy who actually recommended it & believe me it's good. You fill her up, pour the whole bottle in and then drive! It really reduces emissions, car runs smoother & for £12 a bottle it should.

Hi,

Is that Forte 'GAS treatment' or 'Injector cleaner'?

Cheers

I'm 99% sure it's the Gas Treatment. I use it in mine & the wife's Polos and have done for about 2 years. I really recommend it. I'm not usually one who uses additives that much, but I'm glad I started using this.
