just had a phone call form my m8 whos reparinin my gearbox.
he says its ready to come home after one long lonely week. in all honesty, i genuinely avent left my house since i gave my car 2 him.
its been horrible, but today i can go get it.
he said the old gearbox had completely gone, the entire casing was cracked and it was useless to anybody so he coudlnt do the usual of gettin a reconditioned one and giving them mine cuz mine was uselss.
so he had 2 find anuva gearbox for sale, and finally he has.
he says its straight out of another car so im guessing a scrap or write off or sumit.
anyway, i'll let ya no this evening how it runs and how much it cost as we avent discussed that yet

congrats mate, glad to hear you have your car back!! Did the guy replace your clutch aswell, cos good chance it got contamintaed aswell.....thats what happenend to mines.

hey guys, got my car back, was out in it all night and it felt gooood

lol theres such a difference, it feels totally different, its faster and it dfoesnt over rev any more. my m8 showed me the inside of my old gearbox n it was a total mess, there wer hardly any teeth left at all on the spokes which explained why it used 2 rev so high.
anyways, it runs fine, although i did smell a bit of burning clutch at first but its gone now so im guessing it was just cuz it had been worked on and not driven all week.

so for a new gearbox out of another car, fitted and oiled, he put new engine oil, removed the lil service light for me, and generally gave the engine a good looking to, all cost me Â£480 in total.

which i think is pretty dam good
