Can't remember it was a long time ago, something along the lines of vw guaranteed the cambelt up to a certain distance, which mine hadn't yet reached. I was the first owner of the car, and i'd had it for under a year, don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I had the alternator belt replaced on my fsi after about 2000 miles. it had split into two but one half was still functioning :oops:

really?? strange that happen. at least it was replaced for free.

VAG Tech near me have quoted £235 - £155 less than VW Main Dealer 8)

Good price i thought.

near leeds i can do most vws for around 170 to 180
