Hello All < New Here

Post by emzino »

Hi everyone. I'll try and keep this short and sweet.
I'm coming over from your friendly neighbour at ClubPolo. Due to my love of Polos I thought i'd be great if I signed up here as well :D .

I've also recently decided of purchasing a 9n so you'll most likely find me in that section asking many questions  but of course also doing my best to contribute to the forums.

About me... 20, student living in Croydon going uni at the moment.
First car was Peugeot 306GLX, loved it but an unfortunate accident meant it was R.I.P.

My next venture was a MK4 1.4 16v. My fast real taste of speed. Fantastic car, which brought me over to the ClubPolo scene and i've read and learnt about Polos ever since. No longer have the 16valver, sold it Jan 2006 (miss it so much!) and just been saving ever since.

Well, i'll see most of you around and hope i'm able to give a helping hand when needed.

Ciao for now!

P.S. Some pics of my valver...

Welcome to the forum :)

Nice valver, and that car wash in one of those photos looks strangely familiar. Is it in Elmers End?

Thanks for the warm welcome. Luckily I bought the car as is so there was nothing I had in mind for it.
The full s/s exhaust topped it off for me so I was happy with it the way it was.
Sold it soon after though, there was rattling under the car and in the service history, VW done £3000 worth of an engine replacement but just the under side yet the rattling still lives hehe. I always thought it was the camshaft, ah well.

The car wash is in Addiscombe mate. It's alright there. Was the day I sold it actually hehe. Got it cleaned up :)

How long has UK-Polos been around for?

Welcome Mate. You got any plans for your 9n when you get it apart from your remap?

Well when I do get it hopefully i've got this on my mind. Now i'll be honest with you, i'm still not that good at knowing all the mods but correct me if i'm wrong or if i'm missing something vital:

1) Remap - Don't know by who but someone reliable.
2) Forced air induction - Is this like an induction kit with cold air feed?
3) I was thinking if it was possible to do a Turbo swap. Same size but something maybe better made to give more power...?
4) Full exhaust system - Again, not sure by who but I don't want it to be loud lol

That's it for engine mods. I'll probably end up getting the 1.4TDI so from 75bhp i'd like to raise it to 100bhp+.

If I am missing the obvious, please do point them out :D

Thank you

Yeah, I'm not too far from there. I'm from West Wickham.

Josh's (the founder and administrator's ) site is called Tigerstyle. I guess he hosts the forum from that site.
