I am pretty sure the clutch on a MK4 is self adjusting so there should be no adjustment needed to the cluctch itself, a high biting point can mean its on its way out but unless you have other symptoms such as missing gears, crunching gears, noise from the clutch when changing gear, i wouldnt worry about it.

not too sure about self adjusting, i'm not exactly mechanically fluent! I had to change the clutch cable on my mk4 1.6 the other week, there was a nut on the end of the cable that i could tighten/loosen till i got the biting point at the right height, sound adjustable!! Wasnt a hard job at all either!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your advice lads, after investigating it turns out that all right hand drive polos have manually adjustable clutch cables. So I had a lil play wid it today and managed to lower it by loosening the adjusting screw.

interesting stuf, as my clutch is high as well. But the thing that has concerned me is that recently when you press down on it or release it you feel like your pushing against something. Its weird to explain but it feels bitty, like their is layers your pushing against???
