Wolfsburg Edition Made Cars

Post by emzino »

Came to my head when I read an old post about fake Wolfsburg stickers on Polos.

I just wanted to know...

-What cars/models are made in Wolfsburg now?
-Are they more expensive than your average and do they roll out of the factory with some kind of Wolfsburg sticker?
-Are they that much more reliable when it's made in Wolfsburg?

Just quite curious about this Wolfsburg stuff :D

That's worrying... I thought only the 6n & 6n2 was made in Spain as VAG moved SEAT production to Germany to sort out there reliability issues.

The Mk2 was the first Polo to be made at VW's Pamplona factory, during the Mid 80's.

Only the Mk1 and some early Mk2's were built in Wolfsburg. A few Polos are currently being produced in VW's Brussels plant.

I haven't got anything to back it up, but I think the German plants tend to make the flashier stuff now. Audi's, Passats, Phaeton's, etc.

hmmm very interesting list!!

from that i can say that my mums 9n (Y) AND my bro's G40 (Y) were both built in Navarra in Spain and my Ibiza (R) was built in Martorell in Spain.

my bro's Vento (W) is a Wolfsburg edition

My Lupo sport and MK5 Golf GTI were made in Wolfsburg.
My polo 9n, other lupo, 6n2 and all mk3 polos were all made in spain. The golf was the most trouble free car i've ever owned :)

your VIN will either be displayed in the bottom right of your screen (when looking at the car) or there will be a plate/sticker under the bonnet (usually on the front panel or the inner wing near the suspension).

hope this helps
