MY POLO.......... if i done it right.....
Well done mate I know fibre glass is a b***h for showing imperfections when is primed/painted. A friend was building a boot install and he used fibre glass, but it looked awful
Once he painted it every little mark was magnified and it looked c**p. But what you done is probably the best way fowards, make sure the first time you do it, do it on a part that you not gonna notice if its a bit dodgy. Keep the updates coming mate.

tbh i never sanded fibre glass...... and im sure i dont wanna as i believe its dangerous to ur health if ur not wearing the proper breathing equipment.
yesterday i was using fibre glass and body filler and spray paint. if n e one has used n e of them then u should know u should use them in a well ventelated are........ i didnt. i was in the garage witht he door shut and no breathing equipment on. oh well. im fine for now.
today i did a bit more filler on it then sanded it again with 2 grades of paper then i primed it again. hopefully later tonight i can resand it again and put another coat of primer on it depending on wat its like. might be able to go straight to the colour after this time. well see wat happens.

as i said i would. i resanded it again till it was smoother then silk then redid the primer again.i think its gonna be time for the paint soon. its still got some little dinks in it but not very noticable and theyre on the underneath n e way so they wont be seen and theyre gonna reappear n e way. hopefully do the paint tonight. first coat n e way. the next pics u see will be it with its first coat of paint on or finished. not sure yet.
so far the second coat of primer is done then that was sanded with wet and dry then wet and dry wet. the first coat of paint went on then that was sanded with wet, wet and dry 1500 grit. now the second coat of paint is on.
after sanding it again when wet, wet and dry, i'll see how how it looks and if i think its good enough then i'll put the sealer on then sand it then another couple of coats sanding inbetween with wet, wet and dry 1500. hopefully it'll be done by the end of the week ready for my car.
got some little dents still but cant be seen as theyre on the undersude of the splitter.
i'll get some pics of the final thing when its done.
still aint got my car back so hopefully getting that back soon. the gear box got got stripped down and rebuilt so now the engine and gear box have been rebuilt so should run very smooth when i get it back.
when i get my car back i'll see if i can put some pics up of it witht he splitter on....
n e one think i should smooth the splitter into the body work or just leave it as it is?

thats wat i thought. the joint line might split the to areas up a but so not making it look so big where as if it was smoothes if would look like all one bit and make the front of the car look weird........ hopefully either today or tomorrow i'll be able to finish it totally. needs a fine sanding then the sealer stuff can go on. prob do about 3 layers of that then its done...... it might actually be after the weekend thinking abotu it as im going down to my friends house in exmouth as his dad has just died...
give u a shout how exactly? i can shout if u want bud doubt ud hear me.
i prefer to do the stuff myself. if it goes wrong its my fault and it saves me a load of money. the only thing i didnt do myself was the back box as it was replacing my standard factory one so i didnt know how to do it. now that ones done hopefully i'll be able to do the next back box on my own.
