Polo 9n Pop Out Rear Windows . . . .

Post by andy947 »

Anyone got any info on this conversion, looks like it was a VW option, but possibly not a UK option?

Got some rare retro fitted ones on My MK2 Golf and they are ace, wouldnt mind some on the Polo aswell.

As seen here

I noticed that my 9n has two threaded holes on the B pillar where the hinges would fit, looks to be a simple retrofit. Just need....
Glass
Hinges
Catch
New window rubber (I think)
possible new panel for inside, depending on how the catch works.

i THINK mine has a removable section in the quarter trim for this(not the b-pillar though)?

although arent the current windows bonded on? meaning there is definately a need for window rubbers.

i have seen a polo on "cleaned.be" (i think it was that site) with pop out rear windows so it may be a euro option only :?:

 vagparts may be able to help

i would have some for mine if you find out any info

It was a £70 option when I bought my car I think, but i'm presuming that no-one bought them so they were deleted?

Ive got a March 2003 brochure for the polo, and it was listed as an option on E, S, SE & SPORT 3 door polos for £80.
