It's not the polo's fault.......

Post by Chally_Rai »

Hello there,

I have a problem.

My boyfriend, well...now ex-boyfriend, in short, got me my polo.

He knew that I needed a first car and that I know nothing about them so he said he'd get me one, drive it down from where he lives, (about 4 hrs) and id pay him back.

I havent been in the car:

since he broke it off....although that was only yesterday it feels like ages (we were having problems...but I didnt think such extreme measures were needed!).

And I was thinking about whether or not I want to.....(go in the car) and at present I don't really as I am pretty gutted.

A good few of my friends say sell it and get another.

Others say....'hmmmmm thats really annoying'

And some tell me that I cannot blame Guadalupe. (the polo) as it is not her fault. But she will just remind me of him....

What you reckon?

Keep it...

In the long run you might regret selling it...

Keep it, theres gonna be things that remind you of each other that you cant change and your gonna have to get used to. Anyway who knows keeping the polo ( Guadalupe :?) might be the start of something beautiful  Hope you sort it out anyway.

i say keep it, no point in letting a nice car go to waste just because of an ex....you wouldn't move out of your house because he'd been in it a few times 8)

...just get someone else to start the car the 1st time, some people can be crazy

and frankly now that you've named it, that'd just be cruel to throw her out on the street now :P

I'd say you're better off keeping Guadalupe. I have to agree with what Biddle and Adam say. In your other thread, you sound really positive about it, and it would be a shame to sell your first car before passing your test, and having the opportunity to enjoy it properly (I'm dreading the day I sell my car).

Welcome to the forum :)

Hey, thanks for the replies....I think I might try going out in her today as im off work sick.....i actually feel physically sick...sad i know. And see how I feel.

And its not often I'm around her in the light.... I can also have a look inside her bonnet and have a go at cleaning the bits you lot said to clean.... which is going to be ghey as at the weekend when I last saw him he broke down and we spent a good amount of time under the bonnet....

I need a manual.

And this is all assuming he sends off that paper I signed at the weekend to sign the car over to me. At present it is still technically his....

Although if he doesnt ill just have a little fun speeding around the country, removing the tax disc and parking it in bus stops.

I dont think i could be that mean though....
