Blower switch mystery

Post by marktwo »

Went to demist the windscreen today and turned the knob to position 3 for maximum effect. Nothing happened so I turned the knob back to off and the blower came on, the positions appear to have reversed! I now have to fiddle about with the switch to get the fan to work. Has anyone taken the switch out is it easy and is the switch repairable?
Thanks Mark.

I had the switch to bits the other week theres very little inside it, i don't reckon it'll be the switch though.

If anything it'll be the resistor on the heater motor i reckon.

The rheostat on these goes all the time. In fact, i havent been in a mk2/3 polo that has a fully working heater! Currently driving a mk2 that only works on 3.

All of mine have had 8)

Admittedly, it's been the same resistor matrix that I take from car to car.
