oil leak? (ignore, me being thick lol)

i noticed the other day the dash was flashing "service oil"
i think the service bit is because it needs to be serviced though, so im guessing its just saying oil. lol
anyways....i put a whole bottle of oil in, then the next day it was flashing again!!!!

i checkeed the oil reader and it was DRY lol, completely.
any ideas how much this could cost me????

so have you checked for oil under your car? As a whole bottle of oil leaking out the car would surely be noticeable...

the oil service light is totally unrelated to oil levels etc, it just comes up every whatever amount of miles telling you to change your oil

well i looked and there did look like some traces of oil...but it was too wet to really tell this morning.
and plus i drive around 80 miles a day to wrk and back so if it was a bad leak (enough to make the oil reader dry) then it would have all leaked out on the way to work and back

just checked it again, loads of oil in it, when i checked this mornin i was running the engine so i guess the oil was 2 busy doing its job rather than sittin in the reserve!!! lol
