Forgive me for saying this as an answer to every erratic idle on any GT, but it's a common thing.

Have you replaced the fuel filter, at the back of the car, by the tank and inline pump, recently?

Consistant fueling is pretty much critical on GT's, and is often the cause of running problems. It might not be the case, but for the sake of £4 for a filter, it saves looking for a problem that might not be there in the dizzy.

Oh dear what you done to it?

Grant what have you added since you bought it (engine wise) and what have you taken off to clean?

It won't be anything broken, it will be something not fitted right...i would say air leak, have you had the tb off and disconnected any vacuum pipes?

hello i've had a stainless pipe made to go in place of the rubber flexie hose between the air mass sensor and the throtle body elbow and re connected the crank case breather to it where you had put a long pipe to the back of the head light also had the rocker cover off and changed the oil nothing major also had the dizzy cap of to investigate after it started to not idle properly the rotor arm looks a bit battered along with the dizzy cap also found that the black cover behind the rotor arm is broken and some small pieces of plastic had gotten in to the distributer given the car a good clean today its attracting alot of attention to which puts a smile on my face
