17s on a 9n - no lowering???

Post by LowPoloCo. »

Hey guys,

Im looking at some replica RS4 alloys for my 9N.

Im fed up with my steels (they look DIRE), but I dont think my parents would be very happy with me if I got it lowered. Would this look stupid if I had 17s and didn't lower it? GaryUK said it would be really high up, which is fair, anyone got any pics of one on 17s not lowered.

They might not suit if not lowered, so maybe 16s, or 15s even (but then id defnitiely need to lower it)

Loose loose
Cheers

It will look stupid if its not lowered on most alloys really inless they are really small but will look like it needs lowered anyway. lol. Jus get it lowered before you put your alloys on and your reants prob wont notice tbh, thats what i pretty much did, then told them when i was pickin it up at a kwik fit and they couldn't do much lol. But as it was a well known gargae they were fine with it.

id say you mite get a 40mm drop on 17s depending on width and offset
mite need the lips rolling or even pulling

Cheers guys,

Dino, is that polo lowered on VW sports springs? coz thats only like 15mm isnt it? my parents 9N2 is on sports suspension, and its only a 15mm drop.

I like the idea about not telling the parents, like mc_iver_9n said, but my dad knows what i'm like!!!

I think I may just get some 16s in that case, am i right thinking that 15s would look no better than my 14 steels, and 17s might look really tall?

Cheers

17's look really good on the 9n. There was one on 17"schmitds and also one on 18" Audi RS6 which also looked really good. Both at the polo show. If your gonna go 16" they have to be pretty wide and you'l have to go very low. This is the one on 17's from the polo show. There'll be pic of the one on 16's somewhere id think.

Its partly their car aswell, for all other purposes its mine, but, when i got to uni, they're gonna have to run it. So they dont wanna look stupid in a lowered, de-badged polo, with different lights, and fat alloys.

Is Dino's lowered on those Montreal 2s?
