6n2 Body onto 6n?

Post by Rubber12 »

Will standard mk5 body kits fit onto my mk4?

i.e. front & back bumpers and tailgate.

Cheers

No, the arches are slightly more flared on the mk5 i think, the grille surround is part of the bumper on the mk5, none of the clips etc would line up. It would be alot of work to make fit!

Why you looking at mk5 bodykits anyway? If a company does a kit for the mk5, 95% of the time they will have a similar version for the mk4.

i think he's talking about standard mk5 panels onto a mk4.

discussed it in the mk4 section recently, more work than it's worth tbh!

There's a guy called Katan (I think) with a grey Mk4 with a PD150 conversion. He did the front end swap, and it does look good (apart from the sad-boy bonnet )

I do have to say I like his wheels 8)

Here are some pictures of it in the E38 picture thread, by Tigz.

However, the swap doesn't look too simple. The car was in an issue of PVW (I'll have to dig it out later and find out which one it is).[/url]
