Excuse the first post but looking for a Polo for my son to learn too drive in.
I have had Golf's & Sciroccos over the years but never a Polo
I am looking at a 96 1043cc thats on EBay at the moment.
It has a broken cam belt I am OK with the technical side of replacing the belt but with these engines is it possible for the pistons to collide with the valves?
So my question is :- Is it just a case of a new belt timing it up and away you go?
I dont mind stripping the head and cleaning it up but it might work out expensive if its bent the valves, though no doubt someone has a head sitting around?.
I have a spare 6 cylinder BMW one sitting in the garage
TIA and great site just need a Polo now
